Comment:

The only problem is that the stores might be closed half-day on 24th and will definitely be closed on 25th. It is probably better if we have some stuff ready.

The Tcherniaks and the food question

All,

count us in on just about any food item you can think of. Just don't be overzealous with trying to get all the food before leaving your respective cities. We will have grocery stores there and who knows what we will be in cravings for after a long day on the snow.

See y'all on Tuesday.

The Tcherniaks.

Yulia and Max food preferences:)))

from meat family: lamb
vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers (if they come in bulk)
bread - we eat one from Whole Foods (the one you have to bake in the oven) so I will get some of that, if other type is preferred by other people, may be it can be purchased from Costco?
eggs and milk, sour cream and mayo will probably go in large amounts as well
tea - regular black

In general, for breakfasts we will probably need some kind of "myasnaya narezka" or smth (smoked salmon is good too)

Masha, if the final food list becomes huge, let me know so that we can split it. I can also get the little things like flour, butter, may be stuff for soup of the day:)

Yulia

Alcohol (will be purchased by Yulia&Max)

Our suggestion on the amount; please, contribute with the specific brands:)

1. 3 bottles of red and 3 bottles of white wine
2. beer (3x6)
3. 2 champagne bottles
4. some alcohol free "alcoholic" beverages? Maria?

And we've got the last deal. Congrats to everybody, good team work.

Now, the ski team needs to look for discounts on day passes.

New deal:

The best part we do not need anybody else just 7 adults + 2 children < $500 / pair.

Info: http://boardmanfarm.com/
Dates: 23/12-29/12
Money: 1) base $475 (weekend) + 4x$200 = $1275
2) additional person $50 x 6 = $300
3) 0.09 % tax = $141.75

total = 1716.75 = 490.50 per pair = 245.25 per person
refundable deposit = $500

We need to gather $2216.75 and house is our.

Conference call results:

1. Dates: 23/12-29/12
2. Money & place: Maria's deal (http://www.vrbo.com/50769, see below)

Conclusions:

1. As you can see, we will need to renegotiate dates w/ the owner a bit, hopefully that will work out.
2. We need 2-3 people to decrease the price, those should be preferably pleasant singles (there are only 4 bedrooms, so they will be sleeping in living rooms) with fluent russian (or at least strong desire to master this language).
3. We also could think about an extension of dates to cover the New Year, because 29/12 is
the limit Katya & Lesha can afford, but the rest of the crew can stay longer. Please comment on that if you are interested.

More later...
Today's summary (Les conclusions de jour):

1. Today at 10 pm (E.T.) there will be a conference call, numbers are in Katya's email.
2. Yulia & Max:
money:<500$ (per week), dates:24/12-4/41, location: beautiful place
3. Maria & Artur:
money: see above, dates: 25/12-1/1, location: the closer to ski place the better,
but it should also be beautiful
4. Katya & Lesha/Lida:
money: <400$ (per 5 day period), dates: 24/12-29/12 or
9/1-11/1 (w/o Lesha & Evelin, but w/ Lida), location: more beautiful
than close to mountains
5. Oleg: TBA,
location: somewhere in mountains :)
Our best option so far is

Description: Killington, Vermont, USA, Killington Ski/Golf Vacation House
Web Address: http://www.vrbo.com/50769
Desired Date: 12/25/08
Length of Stay: 1 week
Price: $2650 plus 400 refundable deposit

So, we need at least 11 people to beat the $500 per pair limit.
Constraints: time, money, etc.
